Business Development Manager

What we are looking for:

We are looking for experienced, highly motivated individuals who enjoy sales and have good overall commercial knowledge to work with us to build awareness and engagement in Mactavish’s products and services and, ultimately, to drive sales for the organization.

Qualifications and Competencies:

The successful applicant will:

  • have 1-2 years relevant experience in business development activity within professional or financial services, or a related sector;
  • demonstrate high levels of confidence in interacting with prospects and clients over the phone, via video calls and (when permitted and appropriate) in person;
  • be a self-starter, with an organised and systematic approach to record keeping and time management;
  • wish to take real ownership of challenges and targets and think creatively about how they might be met;
  • be highly motivated with the ability to maintain a high ongoing work rate;
  • be comfortable working in a collaborative team in which sharing ideas and best practices are encouraged; and
  • crucially, be able to demonstrate a high-level of intellect and the ability to understand and communicate complex value propositions to sophisticated buyers.

Day to day responsibilities:

The BDM will be responsible for managing early stage prospect relationships from initial engagement with Mactavish through to the point of sale.

Initially, the majority of their time will be spent making outbound calls to both warm and cold prospects. They will be expected to use various tools such as email and LinkedIn to build their own prospect pipeline and to increase their professional networks so as to drive sales activity.

In addition they will:

  • arrange and attend meetings with prospects;
  • be responsible for arranging sales materials and collateral to be used in those contexts; and
  • support the team’s management on ad-hoc projects as and when required, while also contributing to company-wide initiatives.
